Day 15 - Around Alice

Today we decided to spend the day in Alice so we set off to the Reptile Park and made some new friends
Spike was my favourite. Spike is a Bearded Lizzard

When we were leaving Spike gave me a little wave

We had a good day just looking around we called in to the Flying Doctor
on the way back to the van park.

Day 14 Still in Alice

Today we packed some lunch and headed off to Chambers Pillar, 155 kl of dirt road with the last 45 kl 4x4 only. Some of the sections were quite bad and very sandy following the recent flooding here a few months back. Both cars handled the drive well until my new UHF aerial unscrewed it's self during the bad corrugations. We saw lots of Hawks and we think a couple of Eagles.

The pillar itself i must admit was not at it's best and i think we were expecting more,
never mind it was impressive and Mathew and Lisa climbed it.

There were 4 lots of gates that had to be opened and closed, Lisa got the job of that

Then on to Rainbow Valley

With a couple of nice sunset pics to end the day

Day 11 on to Alice Springs

Up around 7.30 hitch up and head of on the 585 kl drive to Alice Springs. It was raining and to make things worse the wiper blade rubber was broken

After stopping for more fuel and lunch we made it back to the Sturt Hwy
and we were half way.

Finally made it a long drive, but good to be in alice at the big 4 Van Park

Kings Creek Station

We went down the track a bit to another station and had a late lunch, make sure you have plenty of cash
with you. 4 bacon & egg sandwitches and 4 buckets of chips 3 soft drinks and 1 milkshake $ 79

So we went for a sunset Camel ride, yep no sunset and it rained so the ride got cut short
no refund just a cup of coffee.

Still a lot of fun

On the way out we had to pass the ranger
